From 21 to 27 of April 2005, visitors to the SATO stand can for the first time witness a complete supply chain process from the supplier via the manufacturer to the retailer, demonstrating how RFID seamlessly integrates into traditional barcode systems.
The flagship of the supply chain simulation is SATOs RFID-enabled S Series OEM print engine. The RFID module adopted by SATO operates in the ultra-high frequency (UHF) band (868 MHz) and conforms to the EN 300 220 specifications.
The SATO automatic pallet labelling solution is supplied with the UPM Rafsec FlagTag (patent registered), allowing tagging of all pallets with just one type of tag. Thanks to the FlagTag concept, universal readability is assured irrespective of the point of application and content of the pallet; moreover, the design can be used in an automatic application device. This solution virtually functions for all potential shipping label applications in the market today.
SATO was appointed METRO Gold Partner in June 2004 and has been actively involved in implementing RFID solutions with METROs leading suppliers ever since.
Another highlight on SATOs Interpack stand will be the new stand-alone GTe4XXe printer, which is the fastest printer in its class with a print speed of 300 mm (12ips) at 203/305 dpi. The GTe4XXe printer uses SATO Embedded Programming Language (SEMBL), which, in combination with an easy-to-navigate menu, provides a simple solution to customise printed labels.
