Auto ID maintenance specialist Qcom has been appointed as an authorised service provider by leading printer manufacturer Sato.
Sato is a world-leader in the manufacture of thermal printers for the bar code industry, producing printers for use in a whole range of industrial, retail and distribution environments.
Qcom has already been servicing Sato printers through its resellers for over a decade, but this new partnership sees the relationship between the two companies strengthen further.
Through the agreement, Qcom now has a direct relationship with Sato allowing it to provide customers with an enhanced service. The Droitwich-based business will also be offering an enhanced bespoke service to its existing reseller customers.
Neil Anderson, managing director at Qcom, explained: Sato printers have a global reputation for quality, but buying a printer is not just about choosing the right product.
Todays buyer is just as concerned with the long-term maintenance support as with cost and through this arrangement, Sato customers now have direct access to Qcoms high quality and rapid response services.
We understand how costly downtime is to any business and this deal represents another step forward in Qcoms constant drive to hammer down the all-important turnaround time on mission critical servicing.
The Sato deal strengthens Qcoms position as one of the leading providers of maintenance and technical services for Auto ID equipment, thermal printers, scanners, IT systems and generic technology products across Europe.
Mark McMahon, general sales manager at Sato said: This is a very positive business relationship and it is Sato customers who benefit.
What weve done is bypassed a loop. Previously spares would go to distributors, who would then put in a request to Qcom, with the whole process having quite a long lead time. The new service and supply is far quicker now that Qcom has a direct relationship with Sato.
