Datalogics new SC6000 is an industrial controller specifically designed for omni-directional multi-side reading tunnels and offers all the necessary functions for easy installation and maintenance of the tunnels.
It is suitable for sorting applications on conveyors in single or multi-side layouts, typically found in the transportation and logistics or distribution industries, such as express couriers, postal companies and airports.
Key features of the SC6000 include a display, keypad, multiple interfaces and built-in connectivity, all encompassed in a robust alloy case making the controller ideal for industrial environments. It is compatible with the 6000 and 8000 families of scanners (bus versions) from Datalogic.
The SC6000 is equipped with a new function from Datalogic to reduce downtime of the system called DARP (Datalogic automatic replacement procedure). With DARP scanner replacement is made easy by means of an automatic backup/restore procedure, whereby the configuration of the slave scanner is automatically downloaded by the SC6000 onto the new scanner. Even the SC6000 controller can be easily replaced because the complete system configuration can be recovered from the removable compact flash memory which stores this information, so that by installing it into the new controller, the system configuration is automatically restored and the reading station is ready to start working again.
Cabling of the reading station has been designed to be fast and simple when the SC6000 is combined with the PWO (omni station power & connect system), making overall installation easier.
Preventive maintenance and system diagnostics of the reading station are possible by remote access to the SC6000 controller via Ethernet with full TCP/IP protocol support.
In fact Datalogic has provided the SC6000 scanner with complete built-in connectivity to Ethernet, Profibus and Devicenet. Additionally, there is a standard 9 pin port to connect a modem for remote activity.
Furthermore, the SC6000 is equipped with a display and set of visible LEDs to communicate all main statistic/diagnostic information to on-site maintenance staff in a simple manner.
All scanners in the reading station can be operated via GENIUS software which is installed on the SC6000 controller, from software downloads to fine tuning of the scanners.
All-in-all the SCC6000 industrial controller offers all the necessary tools to make installation, set-up, testing and maintenance of omni-directional reading tunnels easy and quick.
