The CNT agreement ensures that Hitachi Data Systems' enterprise customers can now implement highly scalable, high performance storage solutions that meet their dynamic business and IT requirements, including tiered storage and Data Lifecycle Management.
Hitachi Data Systems is already a worldwide reseller of CNT's extension products, the UltraNet Storage Director - eXtended and UltraNet Edge Storage Router. With the addition of the UMD to the existing reseller agreement, Hitachi Data Systems now supplies CNT's full portfolio of business continuity, disaster recovery and SAN switching and SAN consolidation products on a global basis.
Along with CNT's extension products, the UMD has also completed certification with the Hitachi TagmaStore? Universal Storage Platform. The combination of the Universal Storage Platform and CNT's UMD can greatly simplify the building and consolidating of the most demanding data storage environments. CNT's UMD, delivering performance, scalability, and flexibility previously unseen in traditional director-class storage networking products, is a new category of director that complements Universal Storage Platform as a new enterprise storage solution category.
With its scalability in ports, protocols and speeds, and a flexible upgrade path from 1 Gbps up to 10 Gbps, the UMD provides customers with the ability to efficiently consolidate and aggregate storage environments while significantly reducing complexities and costs for complete investment protection.
