Sharp Makes Further Inroads into the IT Channel with Micro-P

Sharp Systems Products Company (SSPC), the business division of Sharp Electronics and Micro-P, one of the largest distributors of IT and technology products for the corporate and education markets, have reached a distribution agreement aimed at broadening Sharp's presence in the b2b projector market.

Dave Barton, Divisional Manager of Projectors at Sharp commented, "The growth seen in both the education and corporate markets in 2004 is set to move forward at a significant pace. Projector sales into the corporate environment is expected to grow steadily as more IT managers and departments increasingly look to implement whole system solutions. The education market is also predicted to double in size over the next three to four years."

He continued, "As discussions unfolded with Micro-P during the last quarter of 2004 it became clear that we share very similar values and business goals. The onus on product concentration, for example, is perceived by both sides as fundamental to achieving our objectives of delivering greater levels of technical support, product knowledge and customer service.

Anthony Catterson, MD of Micro-P stated, "Micro-P is delighted to be able to strengthen our rapidly growing AV product portfolio with a brand of Sharp's quality. This strategic alliance will give even greater credibility to Micro-P's customer offering, and will allow Sharp to share our expertise in the B2B sector. This is a tremendous incremental opportunity for both businesses."
