AXIOHM, one of the world leaders in thermal printing systems and inventor of the famous CLAMSHELL, has entered into a cooperation with Olivetti Tecnost for the development and worldwide distribution of POS printers.
Axiohm and Olivetti Tecnost will cooperate with the objective of jointly developing and distributing printers for the POS market. The two companies, already leaders in their fields, will henceforth combine their know-how, their ability to innovate and their experience in the POS market to develop new POS printers as a team. Beginning in February 2005, Axiohm will market worldwide the flagship products of the Olivetti Tecnost range of POS printers, through its direct and indirect sales networks.
Yves Alexandre, President of Axiohm, declares: "This collaboration is an exceptional development opportunity for our companies. Indeed, Axiohm's range of POS printers, when combined with that of Olivetti Tecnost, constitutes the largest offering on the market, thus permitting Axiohm to consolidate its position as the second-largest brand in the POS market in Europe and the U.S. Moreover, as evidence of the commitment of our two companies to establishing a long-term partnership, our teams will, from this day forward, work on the common development of a new product. We expect that this product, once released, will become a standard of the POS printer market."
