ONStor Inc, a leader in scalable NAS solutions for multi-vendor storage, and StorageTek (Storage Technology Corp., NYSE:STK), the leading provider of enterprise information lifecycle management, have jointly announced certification (1) of the ONStor SF4400 Series SAN filer as interoperable with StorageTek FlexLine systems. This interoperability qualifies ONStor as a new member of the TekAlliance Partner Program at StorageTek. This program offers mutual customers a wide portfolio of jointly sold and supported, interoperable storage solutions to better meet their specific information lifecycle management and storage needs.
ONStor's scalable NAS solutions allow customers to further leverage their investment in StorageTek storage. Unlike conventional NAS solutions that require proprietary storage, ONStor's scalable NAS employs multi-vendor storage such as StorageTek's FlexLine systems. In addition, ONStor solutions enable multi-tiered storage, making them the ideal complement to an ILM data management strategy. A typical ONStor installation may include StorageTek's FLX 200 series disk (for frequently accessed, mission critical files), and the FLX 300 series disk (for backup data and for less frequently accessed files, such as archival or reference data), all within a single, easily managed environment.
