Epson delivers new impact document printer specifically designed for the banking industry and public sector

The Epson PLQ-20 can handle high volumes of paper throughput at fast print speeds of up to 480cps. It has a long ribbon life which equates to 5 million characters and the ribbon can be changed easily, even by less experienced users. In addition, the PLQ-20 has a high copy capability of 7-part forms and a maximum thickness of 2.6 mm for saving and passbooks. The printer can fit into small spaces, such as bank counters, thanks to its small footprint and the optional space saving kit.

Neil Hartigan, Sales and Marketing Manager, Business Products says, "The automatic sheet alignment, automatic paper thickness adjustment and automatic page border recognition are key technology features for customers in this market. For example the thickness of a saving book will vary depending on which page is opened to print on, and these automatic features ensure that counter staff can easily and quickly load a savings book with the minimum of intervention."

For customers whose systems required data to be read from or written to a magnetic strip, for example, on the customer's savings book or a ticket, the PLQ-20M includes a magnetic Stripe Reader/Writer (MSRW).

As with all printers in its Dot Matrix range, the Epson PLQ-20 offers reliability and robustness, ensuring it will perform in even the most busy and pressured business environments.

Parallel, serial and USB interfaces as well as ESC/P2, IBM and PR2 emulations and optional wireless and wired networking offer flexible connectivity.
