SMART UK Market Development announces the appointment of Mark Bird as an independent consultant on the education market. Marks role will be to help SMART UK define their education strategy in support of SMARTs network of education resellers.
In August Nick Lamb was appointed as SMART UKs training manager as part of its commitment to ensuring that the SMART products are used to best effect.
Further to this Marks role has been established to provide education support and focus backed up by Nicks work on standardised training. Mark has already taken on a team of six ex-teachers and LEA advisors, as permanent education development consultants, who under Marks guidance will provide this education advice and direction.
Mark comments I have been brought in to ensure that SMART UK has the right support structure in place for both the channel and for the end user. We believe that this is the way that SMART will maintain and strengthen its position as market leader.
Mark has eight years experience in the industry having worked for Steljes in the past as well as a content development company and two of the largest SMART resellers.Wayne Perkins, Director of SMART Products, SMART UK Market Development, comments SMART UK is concentrating on looking at the interoperability and integration of its products. The key to this is providing better support to the reseller channel and schools, training organisations and content providers. SMART UK wants to bring all tools together seamlessly. We are ensuring that schools and LEAs have all the hardware, software, training and online personal development in place for them to develop whole teaching solutions via SMART products. Mark will be an important addition to the team to achieve this end.
