Decru, Inc, the leader in networked storage security, today announced that it has signed a contract with ACAL Storage Networking, Europe's leading independent storage networking distributor. Under this agreement, ACAL's network of resellers and system integrators will distribute Decru's solutions in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
"EMEA is a key market for Decru and we are confident this partnership will allow us to grow our market share further and consolidate our leading position," said Joanna Shields, Decru's Managing Director for EMEA. "We selected ACAL because of their proven expertise in the storage industry and effective network of VARs."
"We have seen an increase in the demand for networked storage security products yet this is still only the tip of the iceberg," said Andrew Litherland, director EMEA, ACAL Storage Networking. "Decru offers the widest range of enterprise-class solutions in the market, with its DataFort addressing NAS, SAN, DAS and tape environments alike. Our partnership with Decru will enable us to offer the channel state-of-the-art, reliable solutions that will bring them healthy margins."
"Compliance has become a hot topic in 2004," says Fran Howarth, Practice Leader at Bloor Research, "However, too many investments still focus in perimeter security - using technologies such as anti-virus to keep bad things out... security incidents originating from within organisations account for between 50% and 80% of the security breaches experienced by most companies. The answer to this problem is to ensure that all data is encrypted when it is at rest within organisations, namely when it is in storage systems."
The Decru DataFort storage security appliance combines secure access controls, authentication, storage encryption, and secure logging to provide defence in depth for sensitive stored data. By locking down stored data with strong encryption and routing all access through secure hardware, DataFort radically simplifies the security model for networked storage. Decru DataFort appliances can be deployed transparently in SAN, NAS, DAS and tape backup environments, with no changes to servers, desktops, applications, or user workflow.
