ASIGRA UNVEILS ASSURANCE RESELLER INITIATIVE

Asigra, the technology specialists in distributed backup and recovery software for network computing, today announced the launch of its Assurance Reseller Program. This gives resellers the choice of selling Asigra Televaulting software to end user customers or to offer storage services as a utility with revenue based on data being managed. This dual-choice revenue option promises significant growth potential for resellers in the enterprise data storage market as distributed backup and recovery becomes a critical component of regulatory compliance.

In addition to offering customers a storage solution through the actual sale and installation of Asigras product into its clients infrastructure, Asigra Televaulting software features a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) that is built for utility service provisioning. This means that resellers can instead offer a recurring revenue service by performing backup and restore operations for their customers, with a monthly fee per unit of storage stored. This service provisioning functionality includes a multi-tier storage billing system, agentless architecture, SLA monitoring and management, storage resource management tools and WAN-optimised compression technology.

Asigras Assurance Reseller Program allows resellers and service providers to purchase an Asigra license to deliver an unsurpassed managed backup service, said Eran Farajun, Executive Vice President for Asigra. This option is particularly appealing to enterprise customers with geographically dispersed sites and/or those who would prefer not to handle the challenges of reliable backup and restore on their own.

For the first time, central office IT can be in control of their enterprise-wide data, taking advantage of fast, disk-based backup and restores without expensive and complex replication systems. Assurance Reseller Program members have access to a variety of marketing and business tools to ensure their success. Asigras program offers customised sales and marketing materials and online training support so that resellers are quickly educated on Televaulting and are best prepared for presenting the product to customers. A capacity-based licensing model allows resellers to better differentiate product and offer software that is not based on an agent-fee model. Additional support is given to participants of a deal registration program that helps close the sale.
