KYOCERA MITA OFFERS ADVANCED BAR CODE PRINTING WITH THE LAUNCH OF NEW PCL BARCODE SOLUTION

Pioneering document imaging company Kyocera Mita today announced the launch of a low cost PCL Barcode printing solution that will enable its workgroup and departmental printers and mfps to integrate seamlessly into customer environments that require PCL bar code functionality.

The compact flash based solution can be installed into any Kyocera printer or mfp that supports compact flash cards, delivering instant PCL functionality in addition to the 45 standard bar codes that Kyocera devices are already equipped with. The software licence is not device-specific therefore users can switch the compact flash card between devices as required.

Kyocera Mita's PCL bar code solution is designed to integrate into common ERP environments such as SAP and Navision, as well as with customers' bespoke ERP systems. Nigel Allen, Senior Product manager at Kyocera Mita commented: "The addition of PCL bar code capability to our product range is designed to help our channel partners penetrate those customer sites that require PCL bar coding as standard. Organisations that are already using BarDIMM or Stethos solutions will be able to move to Kyocera Mita products without any additional cost of change, and then benefit from the unbeatably low running costs that Kyocera printers and MFPS offer."

Kyocera Mita's PCL Bar code software incorporates OCR-A and OCR-B fonts as standard and is priced very competitively at around 30% less than competitive solutions. It is available from Kyocera Mita resellers and servicing dealers from 1st September 2004.
