DAEJA PROVIDES HOT NEWS FOR COLD USERS

Daeja Image Systems today announced a hot new COLD Module for their world-leading java image viewer ViewONE Pro. The Module, which is available for just 500 for a server license, is in response to a chorus of requests from COLD system users looking to benefit from the same installation-free functionality and collaboration offered by ViewONE Pro for other file formats.

Daejas new COLD Module will join ViewONE Pros existing suite of Annotations, Print Accelerator, DjVu and PDF Modules, which all extend the functionality of their market-leading java image viewer, and are delivered via Module-On-Demand by ViewONE Pros innovative Advanced Cache Manager.

Whereas previously theres been no single cross compatible viewer for all COLD systems (because COLD specs and formats tend to be unique to each system), Daejas COLD module now means that organisations can consolidate on ViewONE Pro for all their COLD archives, allowing users to examine COLD documents as quickly and easily as any other scan format such PDFs, TIFFs, JPEGs and bitmaps.

COLD systems achieve substantial reductions in storage size for forms by splitting them into foreground and background images, allowing system users to only have to store the foreground for each new scan. However, viewing the complete file requires complex scaling and rendering to ensure a legible recombined image, which is why either each system has its own viewer, or ships with an SDK inviting users to spend months compiling their own. Thanks to ViewONE Pro theres now no additional effort or maintenance overhead required: ViewONE Pro supports text, image and PDF-based foreground files in addition to the wide range of background image formats.

To optimise the speed of working in a web environment, ViewONE Pro only needs to download the small foreground layer for each new file, ensuring fast access over networks and even the slowest dial up connections.

And thanks to ViewONE Pros annotations and redactions capability, COLD system users can now use the same annotations types that have always been available for other file formats supported by ViewONE Pro, enabling fast collaboration on shared files.

Jeremy Jones, marketing director of Daeja Image Systems said, The launch of our COLD Module for ViewONE Pro represents another technical breakthrough for Daeja and keeps us well ahead of the pack. To develop a single unified COLD module has been a real challenge enabling it to work across so many disparate bespoke systems has taken a great deal of expertise, and wed still invite users of COLD systems to send us COLD files from their bespoke systems to ensure the global integration is completely seamless. But as with so many projects in the past weve risen to the challenge and ultimately we think that all COLD users are going to reap benefits from this new module. The process benefits and basic ease of use of having a consolidated viewer for all files in the repository are obvious, but our server licensing policy and lack of user installation means that organisations could now allow their customers access to the original stored COLD files of their scanned delivery notes, bills or checks etc. online by licensing ViewONE Pro for their public web sites too.

He continues: Following our development of the Advanced Cache Manager for ViewONE Pro, were creating a broad suite of low-cost additional modules which can be purchased and integrated simply as customer needs arise, providing true flexibility and scalability. And with no installation or roll-out administration time necessary, it makes delivering a single, robust and powerful image viewer across the enterprise an instant and entirely painless experience. When you add the low cost of server (rather than per-seat) licensing to the time savings from the reduction in IT administrative overhead, its clear to see that ViewONE Pro with COLD also offers a truly rapid ROI and is much more cost effective than a customised solution.

The COLD Module for ViewONE Pro is available to demo online or trial download from the website at www.viewone.com and is available to purchase either online or through Daejas global network of resellers and integrators.
