ANIXTER ENCOURAGES RESELLERS TO ADOPT E-BUSINESS

Further adoption of eBusiness will open a wealth of opportunities for resellers, according to Anixter, the worlds largest global distributor and logistics provider of wire, cable and connectivity products for use in data, voice, electrical and electronic applications. eBusiness has seen much success in recent years in various market sectors and Anixter believes the channel is in a prime position to take advantage of the huge cost-saving opportunities that it offers.

Anixter considers that the UK channel would be able to deliver an even higher return on investment, better standards of efficiency, and pass immediate business benefits to their client base, by fully embracing eBusiness. Many installers and systems integrators that could benefit from eBusiness have not yet adopted the technology.  Companies providing eBusiness solutions have many misconceptions to dispel in order for resellers to realise the full advantage eBusiness can offer them, says Lisa OKeeffe, e-business Manager, Anixter UK.

OKeeffe continues, Often it is a fear of the unknown, and a belief that eBusiness platforms operate outside traditional company processes, without the capacity to fully integrate or to be accountable in the same way as an individual. However, tt is important to remember that eBusiness is not a replacement for the traditional business model, but should complement an existing business structure to enhance productivity, reduce costs and save time and ultimately provide a competitive edge against other resellers.

eBusiness technology allows organisations to trade with suppliers, distributors, resellers and end
users with a greater degree of accuracy, efficiency and ease. This is because paperwork processes are abandoned for faster, easier, smarter systems that give users the ability to have full, online visibility and control of their orders. This reduces the number of transactions normally required to complete the buying and selling process and cuts down the time it takes to respond to customer enquiries. In addition, eBusiness speeds up the entire purchasing process, ultimately resulting in significant time and cost savings.
