(NASDAQ-NMS:MTLG), experts in optical image capture and processing solutions that design, manufacture and market sophisticated imaging and scanning solutions for a variety of applications has announced the introduction of the QuantumE, a new, high-performance bar code scan engine.
QuantumE is Metrologics new combination omnidirectional and single-line scan engine offering designed for integration into a variety of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) devices which require a compact, rugged, and easy to integrate scan engine. The omnidirectional pattern includes a large, aggressive scan zone for optimum scanning and decoding of all standard 1 dimensional bar code symbologies. The QuantumE additionally has a single-line scanning mode which allows for scanning items which have multiple bar codes on the same label or for selecting bar codes from menu-style pricing sheets. A long list of standard features, including quick-disconnect cables, field-upgradeable software, and simplified software configuration, make it an ideal choice for applications such as interactive kiosks, price look-up systems, music listening stations, reverse vending machines, and controlled access devices.
