LXE and Wavelink Partner to Simplify Management of Mobile Computers

LXE Inc., a leading manufacturer of rugged wireless computers that improve the performance of supply-chain execution applications, announces support for Wavelink Avalanche, software for the centralized management of mobile devices.

With this new device management solution system administrators can easily establish configuration profiles for all of their data collection devices from a central console. Administrators can establish networking parameters, update software, change encryption keys and other radio settings, modify platform and BIOS parameters, and completely configure their LXE terminal emulation applications in one simple operation, without ever physically touching the device. This ability to immediately manage devices over the air, or serially, all at once versus one at a time, enables LXE customers to significantly reduce the cost and time required to support and maintain their wireless computers.

"It's that easy," says Hank Stephens, LXE Product Manager. "Input a change, then the next time the computers are booted up, the new configurations are downloaded and applied seamlessly without operator intervention. The solution will significantly simplify the System Administrator's life while reducing total cost of ownership."

"Wavelink Avalanche and LXE devices now offer customers a fully integrated solution for the lifecycle management of their mobile systems," says Eric Hermelee, vice president marketing of Wavelink. "We look forward to assisting LXEs customers reap the real advantages of centralized and automated management so they can spend more time on their business and less time supporting devices."
