METICULUS BIDS TO EXPAND UK RESELLER BASE FOR LEADING SME DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT SOLUTION

Meticulus Solutions has launched a drive to recruit UK resellers with specialist skills in providing document management systems to small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

In the next 12 months Meticulus aims to treble the current numbers of resellers in its Partner Programme and offer substantial margin opportunities on its Meticulist document management software. Meticulus develops affordable, easy to use and completely secure management tools for electronic documents for smaller organisations.

"Regulatory changes are forcing small and medium-sized businesses to adopt document management systems but resellers need to provide systems that are both appropriate and straightforward," said Gordon Olson, chairman of Meticulus. "The problem is that many document management systems are too costly or complex for SME needs, and others that are aimed at them have a laughable shortage of features. Meticulist is rock-solid and fully featured but simple to use and cheaper than alternative products, so is primed for resellers to deliver value to their customers."

Meticulist is designed to bring the benefits of full document management systems to smaller businesses. Built on a straightforward Microsoft Windows-based platform it allows companies to store, secure, search, retrieve and collaborate on electronic documents with controlled access provided for remote working.

Meticulus currently has 10 reseller partners and plans to add a further 20 in the next year. Particular target vertical markets include financial services, accountancy and legal practices and the construction sector.

Channel plans in detail - IT Reseller interview with Gordon Olson

Q. What is Meticulus route to market?

A. Our document management solution, Meticulist, and our Red Letter secure email system are both sold through resellers. The exceptions to this, which are extremely rare, arise when an enterprise customer requires extensive tailoring of the product which only the development team can tackle.

Q. Why do you think partners and customers choose Meticulist?

A. Both partners and customers choose Meticulist because it offers fully featured, affordable, easy to use and secure management tools for electronic documents for smaller businesses. Other products are too costly, minimally featured or too hard to use for many SMEs. Meticulist is an easy sell for a reseller because of its low price and incredible value for money, both up-front and for ongoing support.

Q. How do you support your channel?

A. Each reseller gets a dedicated account manager within Meticulus, to ensure they get the required support. And the more someone wants to promote Meticulist the more support we provide. Marketing support focuses on providing resellers with the resources to communicate with customers, and includes market collateral, direct mail campaign support, seminar planning, PR and information on current promotions.
In terms of technical support, a Meticulist Reseller will receive 2nd and 3rd levels of technical support to ensure they are fully able to support their customers. Our website knowledge base provides an easy to access resource for 1st line support.
We also offer full training to enable resellers to sell to, and support their customers. Our reseller training programme includes: product feature review, installation, configuration and sales. Training is all 1-2-1 and interactive, and to become an authorised reseller of Meticulist you must successfully complete the training.

Q. At what times of the year do you recruit new partners?

A. Regulatory changes mean more and more businesses are having to adopt document management systems to control the costs of compliance so we expect the next year to be a busy one. We would therefore welcome new channel partners at any time of the year.

Q. Do you want new partners now?

A. Absolutely over the next 12 months we are aiming to treble the number of resellers in our partner programme, so there is no time like the present to begin!
