PeopleSoft Expands its Presence in Eastern and Central Europe, Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States

At its Leadership Summit in London, PeopleSoft Inc. (NASDAQ: PSFT) today announced it is expanding its operations in Eastern and Central Europe, Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States. PeopleSoft will open new offices in Poland, Russia and the Czech Republic. The company also announced that it has planned releases of translated and localised versions of its industry-leading software solution, PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne. In addition, PeopleSoft will significantly expand the number of local, industry-aligned Channel Partners throughout these regions.

New Versions of PeopleSoft Solutions

Designed to meet the needs of medium-to-large sized manufacturing and asset intensive companies, PeopleSoft will release local language versions of its industry-leading PeopleSoft EntepriseOne product for the Polish, Russian and Czech markets. PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne is a complete suite of modular pre-integrated applications designed for rapid, cost effective deployment and ease of administration. It is best suited for organisations that manufacture, construct, distribute, service and manage products or other physical assets. The local language versions of PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne will be generally available in Q3 2004.

Focus on Channel Partners

* To provide the strongest mix of local support and industry expertise, PeopleSoft will recruit twenty new Channel Partners throughout Eastern and Central Europe, Russia and the CIS region over the next 180 days. PeopleSoft's Channel Program is a market-leading mix of essential components that will deliver partners a competitive advantage when selling and implementing PeopleSoft solutions in this market. PeopleSoft's initial target industries include: Construction; Real Estate; Manufacturing; Petroleum; Mining; Pulp and Paper; Wholesale Distribution; Government; Telecommunications and Financial Institutions.

New Offices and Advanced Application Centre

PeopleSoft will open offices in Moscow, Russia, Prague, Czech Republic and Warsaw, Poland. PeopleSoft's Moscow office will serve as a regional sales and operations centre for Russia and the CIS region. PeopleSoft's Prague office will serve as a regional sales and operations centre for the Czech Republic and for customers across Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Turkey, Greece and the Balkan States.

In addition, PeopleSoft's new Advanced Application Centre, based in Warsaw, Poland, will provide certified PeopleSoft consulting resources for customers across Western Europe. Utilising Warsaw's large base of skilled, multi-lingual technical consultants, the Advanced Applications Centre will also provide implementation support for new Channel Partners in Russia, Central and Eastern Europe.
