Zycko selected as European distributor for Intransa IP SAN Storage system

Zycko, the leading global distributor of networking, storage and server accessories, today announces a strategic partnership with U.S. IP SAN Storage leader, Intransa. The partnership, which gives Zycko exclusive distribution rights across the expanding markets of Eastern Europe, Italy and France, consolidates a period of rapid growth for the UK-based distributor, and is the latest in a series of distribution agreements that have allowed Zycko to vastly extend its range of products.

Intransas IP SAN IntraStor architecture and StorControl management software enables customers to easily add storage capacity and consolidate high volume email and collaborative environments such as Microsoft Exchange, databases, backup and restore applications, and other mission-critical data management and disaster recovery applications.

The IP SAN offers IT administrators a practical and economical alternative to expensive Fibre Channel components due to its ability to leverage existing network infrastructures in the enterprise or data centre. The Intransa IP SAN also provides users with excellent data management capabilities and strong reliability.

Nigel Lambert, Channel Manager at Zycko, says of the agreement: Zycko is delighted to join Intransa in delivering cost-effective, high availability storage products to our customers. We are pleased to have been offered the clear vote of confidence from Intransa with this exclusive appointment for an important territory. We see a strong demand for these systems which are able to deliver functionality with simplicity, especially for server consolidation, digital media and backup/recovery applications.

This positive sentiment is echoed by Intransas Director of Global Channel Alliances, Saura Naim: The agreement is a significant element of our global expansion strategy. Partnering with world class distributors such as Zycko, who have the reputation and personnel to reach into the major accounts across Europe, demonstrates that iSCSI has truly come of age."
