Awards recognise Macro 4 sales success

Kofax, the world's largest information capture vendor acknowledged the success of its partnership with global business software provider Macro 4 plc (LSE:MAO) by presenting it with two awards. Macro 4 was named Top New Reseller for 2003, in addition to a second award for making the first UK sale of Kofaxs innovative Xtrata solution.

The awards recognise Macro 4s rapid sales successes with Kofax-based solutions, including installations at Powergen, City & Guilds, ICI Paints, British Nursing Association and Kingston Communications.

John Stinchcombe, Sales Director at Kofax comments: Kofax is widely considered to be a leader in the information capture market and a core strength of our proposition is our channel-oriented approach to this market. We work closely with partner companies, such as Macro 4, who integrate our products into their back-end solution. Since its appointment as a Kofax Complementary Solution Partner (CSP) Macro 4 has done a fantastic job of doing just that. What impressed me most was the speed at which the Macro 4 team assimilated essential technological and market information and then converted that knowledge into sales success. This award is testament to the excellent start weve made on what promises to be a long and fruitful partnership.

Macro 4s Business Information Logistics (BIL) solutions capture and store documents, images and content from any source and assure delivery to multiple print and electronicchannels. In 2003 it decided to build on its own document imaging expertise by incorporating technology from a third party vendor. Following a thorough evaluation of data and document capture vendors, Macro 4 determined Kofaxs scanning technology to be the best option.

The two companies formed an agreement for Macro 4 to sell Kofaxs image capture technology - Ascent Capture as part of the BIL portfolio. The Ascent Capture application enables users to convert paper documents into digital images, to improve archiving and information flow for business and customer management. The British Nursing Association (BNA) has already seen great improvement to its business process management from a document imaging, workflow and output management solution provided by Macro 4s Columbus software in conjunction with Kofax Ascent Capture.

Macro 4 made the first UK sale of Kofaxs form processing software, Ascent Xtrata, at Kingston Communications earlier this year. Xtrata removes the complexity and costs of forms processing by automatically capturing data from paper forms and delivering it into business applications.

Tim Frazer, UK Solutions Business Manager at Macro 4 says: Incorporating Kofaxs image capture products into our own document and output management portfolio has proven enormously successful. The partnership has helped us to win both new business and extend existing customer relationships, and we expect it to open up even more opportunities over the next year. Were delighted to have our achievements acknowledged through this award, and look forward to achieving even greater success in the future.
