FUJITSU LAUNCHES NEW SCANSNAP DESKTOP SCANNER

Fujitsu Europe Ltd, a market leader in document imaging scanners, today unveiled the ScanSnap fi-5110EOX, its smallest and most stylish upright desktop scanner to date. The new ScanSnap allows business professionals and consumers to quickly convert paper documents of variable sizes up to A4 into Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files that are easily shared, organised and protected.

Powered by Fujitsus award-winning digital imaging technology, the new ScanSnap is an out of the box small office scanning solution, including a full version of Adobe Acrobat 6.0 software for saving documents in PDF format - the worldwide, de facto standard for secure and reliable document distribution via print, the Web, and mobile devices. The new ScanSnap can also scan straight to editable Microsoft Word and Excel formats.

At the touch of a button, ScanSnap fi-5110EOX will convert paper documents into digital images, scanning both sides of a page at the high speed of 15 documents a minute. ScanSnap automatically recognises whether documents are black and white or colour, and deletes unwanted blank pages. Adobe PDF files are generated as documents pass through ScanSnaps enhanced 50-page-feeder, which can cope with thick card to thin paper with ease. Users can also whip those piles of business cards into their PC as well, using the included CardMinder software.

Retailing at 399 the new ergonomically designed black unit is extremely small (not much bigger than a standard telephone book) and sits comfortably alongside a PC or laptop on a desk for ease of use. Quality is not sacrificed for size or speed and users also benefit from the ability to scan at a range of high resolutions including 150, 200, 300 and 600dpi - depending on their requirements.
