Anixter International, the largest global distributor and logistics services provider of wire, cable and connectivity products and services, today announced that it has signed an EMEA-wide distribution agreement with ADTRAN Inc, the U.S. market leader in carrier class voice and data telecommunications solutions. Under the terms of the agreement, Anixter will distribute ADTRAN's NetVanta line of internetworking products - including the NetVanta 3000 Series of modular access routers, the NetVanta 1000 Series of managed Ethernet switches, and the NetVanta 2000 Series of VPN/firewall appliances.

The contract will increase Anixter's presence in the internetworking market while, providing ADTRAN with the global logistical support and reseller base necessary to expand in the EMEA market place. Anixter's reseller partners will also benefit, with access to ADTRAN's comprehensive portfolio of standards-based internetworking products.

Anixter's reseller partners will be eligible to take part in the ADTRAN and Anixter Partner Programme. This will provide a range of significant benefits including qualified sales leads, top tier pre- and post-sales support, substantial product discounts and a dedicated account manager. It will also provide access to discounted product demonstration units and comprehensive marketing support - including product marketing kits, marketing development funds and a range of presentations designed to facilitate the sales process. To become an ADTRAN Partner, resellers must complete tiered sales and technical certification on appropriate ADTRAN products.

"We are pleased to welcome ADTRAN as a vendor partner," said Seamus Ryan, President of Anixter EMEA. "Through this partnership, Anixter and ADTRAN have joined forces to provide reliable, cost-effective networking solutions that customers can afford, while also maintaining margins for our reseller partners. This formula has proven successful in the US market and strongly positions Anixter and ADTRAN for continued success in the EMEA market."

"Today's world is information driven. Customers of all sizes are continually working to enhance network performance, while keeping costs to a minimum, that is what makes ADTRAN's NetVanta series so appealing," said Danny Windham, Senior Vice President and General Manager, ADTRAN Enterprise Networks Division. "As one of the world's leading distributors with more than 3,000 partners in 22 countries, Anixter has the logistical capabilities in place to get our products in the hands of customers throughout the EMEA market, as well as a host of other locations around the world."
