Advanced and economical - the latest new printer from Toshiba TEC
December 08, 2008

Toshiba TEC has added the B-EV4 entry-level desktop label printer to its range of thermal printers.

Two models are currently available namely the direct thermal B-EV4D and the thermal transfer B-EV4T.  Designed and engineered to provide affordable printing with high quality performance, the B-EV4 series contains the latest technology with an extra small footprint, to bring desktop printers to the next level.   The series is ideally suited for low to medium volume printing applications, such as retail point of sale, shelf labelling, product marking, healthcare, inventory management and shipping and receiving.

"Our customers told us that they wanted a powerful label printer that was easy to handle and available at an affordable price," said Angel de Juan, Auto ID European Sales Director, Toshiba TEC Europe.  "We listened to them and have brought to market the B-EV4 which will meet the needs of our new and existing customers alike."

Easy to handle and safe to use, the B-EV4 printer has a wide top cover mechanism which  provides easy access to the print head, paper and sensor but importantly, has a cover damper to prevent accidental closure thus preventing user injury.   The printer cover is robust and designed with a double wall which protects the inner casings from dust and external damage. Toshiba TEC's B-EV4 weighs in at just under 2.5 kg and has a mini footprint of 7.8" x 10.2".

The Toshiba TEC B-EV4 has as standard a connectivity line up of serial parallel USB 2.0 ports and internal Ethernet with SNMP management tools.  With a 32 RISC chip the B-EV4 delivers top speeds in terms of label throughput and also boasts an 8MB SDRAM image buffer. Print speeds are set at 4 ips at 300dpi and 5 ips at 200 dpi which allows printing jobs to be processed quickly.

The Toshiba TEC B-EV4 is also available with additional options such as full, partial or liner-less cutters, peel-off, external 8" OD roll mount and liner-less platen kit.
