EPoS solution based on Epson technology provides the ideal platform for expansion
March 7th 2006
Carmathen-based, Uno, benefits from Epson's MR-800 touchscreen terminal and thermal receipt printers.
Uno, a Carmarthen-based home and giftware store, has installed Epson's modular MR-800 touchscreen terminals and TMT-88III thermal receipt printers, as part of a new EPoS solution designed to support the company's future growth.
Carrying around 16,000 items and approximately 6,000 product lines, Uno turned to Bolton-based retail specialist Nisyst to deliver a solution to provide greater control over its operations. Nisyst recommended its core, highly-flexible NPoS software which offers retailers complete control of sales and marketing, point of sale, stock control, purchase ordering, and reporting and analysis, driven by Epson's user-friendly MR-800 touchscreen system.
Selected due to its power, functionality, ease-of-use and elegant design, Epson's modular MR-800 offers Uno complete flexibility at the point of sale. Also as part of the solution, the company has chosen high-speed, thermal TMT-88III receipt printers from Epson to further increase transaction speeds and enhance customer service. "The whole system is so fast and simple to use, and so well geared to our needs, that we had no problems at all. In fact, we've had no problems since the system was installed," commented Jonathan Faull, Uno's founder.
"Although we use the PoS and barcoding elements of the system, as well as some stock interrogation, we're using only a relatively small amount of its capability. As we grow, there will be a need to use much more of its potential, such as stock and warehouse management, and it's then that we'll really benefit from its power and scalability. Having a system which can grow incrementally with you is a major advantage."
