Extech to provides mobile printers for the new Pan-European Alliance, PROVIDIS

Extech Data Systems (Extech), the US developer of portable printers for enterprise-wide applications, alongside Psion Teklogix, Intermec, Pidion, Gotive and Unitech will provide mobile products for the new AIDC (Automatic Identification and Data Capture) distribution Cooperative, PROVIDIS.

Tony Revis, general manager of Extech’s Portable Printers Division, said: “PROVIDIS is a new, exciting European distribution model. It aims to be the first cooperative in the AIDC market for local distributors. PROVIDIS’S purpose is to provide, hardware, software and services to the members of the cooperative.”

Revis continued, “Extech will provide mobile printers for enterprise-wide applications focusing on mobile information and remote transactions. Our printers will be part of the mobile solution PROVIDIS will provide to its customers and are the perfect match for its combined product range.”

Carema Hardware operates in Holland and Germany, NordElettronica, as master distributor, operates in Italy and Paresa Informatica operates in Spain and Portugal.

PROVIDIS is a service provider to the members of the cooperative, taking care of logistics, repairs, product marketing, while letting its partners be fully dedicated to sales and local marketing activities.

The Services are PROVIDIS’s key differentiator.   The key services include; stock availability, sales support, logistics, technical support, repair center, marketing support and business support.  Under stock availability, eighty-five per cent of all orders will be shipped straight from stock. Sales support provides a pre-sales team to support customers, competitive prices fitting each market, demo units, sales tools available for each product line in different languages and a Solution Advisor. The logistics services division has a capability to ship to any address throughout the world, a regular delivery service within 2 to 3 days after dispatch all over Europe and among other benefits, a 600m warehouse based in the Netherlands with a capacity to increase to maximum of 1500m without any movements of products.

The technical support service offers full support maintained in the first stage by brand and by each company, for example:

  • Paresa, looks after Unitech and Psion Teklogix
  • Carema, looks after Gotive and Pidion
  • Nord EL- looks after Extech and Intermec
     

In addition, the technical support service offers; a global web support service, multichannel platform, multi language, knowledge database, central support dispatcher and a complete package for analysis and reporting.  PROVIDIS’s other services include a Centralised Repair Centre in Barcelona, a Marketing Support Service and a Business Support service.
