Bell Microproducts signs device management leader Lantronix for pan European distribution

Offering remote data centre management solutions and distributed IT management solutions, the Lantronix product range offers browser based support for networks, servers, switches and routers from a single desktop.
Operating across Ethernet, IP or even wireless networks Lantronix products give true lights out management enabling configuration, power consumption control and programming of Windows, Linux and Unix servers.
Tom Ellis, senior product manager for storage components at Bell Micro in Europe, said: “Lantronix is the first open device management solution vendor that we are taking to market. Our pan European reach combined with our server and data centre expertise puts Bell Micro in a great position to grow Lantronix European market presence. Delivering configuration, system reboot, asset tracking and management and remote maintenance, IT device management products from Lantronix offer a great incremental business opportunity to Bell Micro’s reseller partners right across Europe.”
Bell Micro in Europe and Lantronix have a number of joint reseller targeted promotional activities planned including education, training and accreditation programmes to help partners take advantage of the rapidly expanding device management market.

Rising costs for on-site support personnel are driving device management adoption as administrators seek to overcome resource limitations through control of networked devices without the need to be physically present at the device location.
