Psion Teklogix and Zetes announce UK strategic partnership
July 14, 2010

Psion Teklogix, Inc., a global provider of mobile computing solutions, and Zetes, a pan-European provider of solutions and services for the automatic identification of goods and people, have entered into a strategic partnership for the UK marketplace.  The new partnership will enable Zetes to offer a broad selection of technology platforms and increase the potential for customers to maximise their investment in voice directed working, through application of Psion Teklogix's DialogueBuilder toolkit on the WORKABOUT PRO Speech for multimodal working.

The announcement follows an extensive business review within Psion Teklogix, which included the adoption of an indirect sales model and Zetes' selection as the primary sales partner for voice products.  Currently, Zetes supports around 60% of the total voice solutions market across the manufacturing, transportation, logistics and retail sectors.  Since the company launched the flexible 3iV range of voice solutions in the summer of 2008, Zetes has implemented a number of multifunctional voice solutions that combine different technologies, and this focus is now complimented by Psion Teklogix's concept of multimodal working as a key product differentiator.

Zetes' 3iV voice solution will now be offered as a solution running on the rugged PDA device WORKABOUT PRO Speech, which is IP65 rated and engineered to deliver superior audio quality enabling up to 99.9% accuracy. The strengths of Psion Teklogix devices' lower cost of ownership and unrivalled reliability perfectly complement the benefits of the 3iV voice architecture which has been developed to provide the highest performance, scalability and security for today's mature voice market.

Paul Westmoreland, Managing Director, Psion Teklogix UK commented, "The supply chain contributes greatly to any company's performance and profits. When products are delivered on time, in the right quantity and at the right place, sales are gained and customers remain satisfied and loyal. We selected Zetes as a key partner because they are clearly one of the leading providers of voice solutions in Europe and offered the greatest potential for Psion Teklogix in terms of both future sales growth and their capability to provide excellent technical support for new and existing installations."

James Hannay, Senior VP Northern Europe, Zetes added: "Zetes has specialised in voice solutions for many years and our aim is to deliver the benefits of voice to every user.  We are seeing increasing interest now from smaller businesses in adopting voice directed working in the warehouse.  Psion Teklogix's technology is perfect for SMBs because it has a low cost of ownership and supports multimodal working so they can maximise their investment. When combined with Zetes' new fast start 3iV WES Express voice solution, it is now possible for any organisation to reap the benefits of voice directed working and start to see a return on investment from day one."
