Handheld upgrades of the Algiz 8
March 05, 2009   Includes Algiz 8 video review

Handheld, the Swedish based supplier of rugged terminals, has announced a major upgrade of its Algiz 8 tablet PC.

The new version of the Algiz 8 will have the new 1,1 GHz ATOM processor from Intel Corporation. Furthermore the optional outdoor readable display will be upgraded to a new screen with enhanced quality and brightness of more than 1100 nits.

There is also an upgrade in size of hard drive, 60 GB instead of 40 GB and there will also be an option for solid state flash disc instead of rotating hard drive. The standard RAM memory is increased to 1 GB instead of 512 MB.

“The Algiz 8 product and the Algiz product line have been extremely successful for us and we believe that with these improvements to the product the success will continue. We are extra thrilled over the screen quality of the product which is truly unique and will give users an excellent outdoor experience. We believe that the Algiz 8 will continue to be the field workers first choice, said Jerker Hellström, CEO of the Handheld group.

The new updated product will first be shown at CeBIT in Hannover 3-8th of March 2009.
