JLT in-vehicle PC gives mobile working portability
March 05, 2009

Mobile computing company JLT is offering its latest portable tablet PC with an in-vehicle docking station.

The JLT8404 is ideal for applications that require an in-vehicle computer that can also be easily removed and taken to the point of action. The rugged JLT8404 offers true computing mobility with integrated wireless communications – Bluetooth, WLAN, 3G/GPRS - and highly accurate GPS for tracking and mapping applications.

Busy mobile workers will appreciate the ability to use a single computing solution to optimise their time and workloads. The JLT8404 eradicates the need for separate communications, data capture and navigational devices as well as offering desktop computing power in outdoor settings.

The JLT8404 has an extremely strong aircraft grade aluminium chassis and 8.4-inch colour touchscreen viewable in sunlight.  The innovative SunView Screen has been developed to provide easy viewing in all lighting conditions and is ideal for dashboard mounting.  Coupled with this is a new touch-screen that has advanced features including palm rejection, and offers great accuracy without the need of a digitiser and active stylus.

The device offers a choice of powerful processors and familiar Windows operating system, the MIL STD 810F rated device provides a future-proof investment for demanding mobile applications.

The JLT8404 is one of the most rugged tablet PCs available and is designed without moving and external parts and subjected to severest tests – water and dust ingress to IP65, drop tests to 1.2 metres and extreme temperatures ranging from -20C to +50C – the device will provide years of trouble-free life.
