DocuWare 5.1 runs on Windows 7
 November 16, 2009

With the recent launch of Microsoft’s latest operating system, Windows 7, DocuWare 5.1 document management system is already up-and-running due to advance testing conducted over the past few months.  Whether a DocuWare user is currently working with Microsoft Vista or with XP, they can confidently upgrade to Windows 7 as needed without compatibility concerns.

After comprehensive testing, Document Management Solutions (DMS) specialist DocuWare has successfully verified the compatibility of its document management system with Windows 7. Since the DMS is strictly based on industry standards, it can be seamlessly implemented with Windows 7.

While conversion to Vista was often resisted by users and administrators, market analysts are expecting great things for its successor – as anticipated before Microsoft’s official launch. According to a study published by the International Data Corporation (IDC) in July, it is projected that by the end of 2010, approximately 177 million Windows 7 licenses will be purchased. Based on forecasts, Windows 7 is faster, more flexible, has a better load balance, and can be operated intuitively. These are all characteristics that will be particularly useful to smaller and mid-sized companies, the core market for DocuWare.

From the beginning, DocuWare has focused its development energy on technical innovations that will be immediately beneficial to users of their software solutions. In order to remain on the forefront of new technology, DocuWare’s quality management is constantly and broadly testing its DMS on the basis of various Microsoft platforms, such as Windows Server, SQL Server, Office and SharePoint. This will continue on into the future, as the DMS pioneer makes certain that its document management software fully supports the newest versions of Microsoft products.
