Positive trend continues for DocuWare
 September 09, 2009

Despite the current economic climate, the DocuWare Group continued to perform well last year during the first half of 2009. The US subsidiary reported strongest revenue growth worldwide.

With a growth rate of 11.5 percent, North/Latin America is the driving force for the DocuWare Group thus far in 2009. The EMEA region (without UK/Germany) grew by 3.6 percent while the German market reached the previous year’s level. In total, the DocuWare Group achieved 7.6 percent growth during the first half of 2009 as compared with the same period last year.

428 New Customers Worldwide

During the past six months, the DMS specialist was able to add 428 new customers from a wide variety of industries to its roster. High project volume underlines the increased interest among companies to invest in efficient document management. In Germany, the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, ITEM Industrietechnik GmbH and construction machine expert ATLAS Hannover were among these new customers. In the EMEA region, the University de les Illes Balears, telecom specialist Setronix Ida in Portugal and reinsurance company Trust International Insurance in Bahrain also signed on. In the UK, Parkside Federation College opted for DocuWare. And some of the more recognizable names of new customers in the USA and Latin America included Interstate Batteries, Advantis Credit Union and the University Autonoma De Hidalgo in Mexico.

Spanish Subsidiary Founded

Worldwide expansion is still in focus: 33 new Authorized DocuWare Partners joined ranks around the globe these past six months. Several new enhanced sales partnerships offer tremendous growth potential worldwide. This also includes the founding of a Spanish subsidiary, DocuWare, S.L., based in Barcelona which is fully operational as of July 1, 2009.

With Optimism into the Future

DocuWare’s worldwide presence has resulted in a high level of stability. In order to promote its expansion in France and francophone countries of Northern Africa, DocuWare SARL was opened on September 1, 2008 with headquarters in Paris. Additional subsidiaries are planned.

Further growth is expected in the Russian market and the first contracts were completed last year. Now with a Russian version of DocuWare Web Client, the software is now available in 15 languages.

Loyal Partners

The DMS field offers numerous opportunities to significantly add onto this positive growth in the second half of the year. Growth drivers such as the information flood, compliance rules and competitive pressure are all top of mind. Positive signals regarding economic recovery are also helping to increase the willingness to invest. DocuWare co-president Juergen Biffar is convinced that the DMS pioneer will use these opportunities to increase its competitive edge: “We remain committed in our product development to keeping the Total Cost of Ownership as low as possible for our customers - by keeping the quality high and the amount of administration needed for our software very low.“ To make sure that these goals are all met, the company increased its staff size by four to a total of 109 since the beginning of January.
