Stortext announce new partnership programme for information management resellers and specifiers
 November 27, 2008

Stortext, one of the UK’s leading outsourced document management providers, has launched its Strategic Alliance programme.

The intention is to create additional sales channels for Stortext’s recently launched EDRM (Electronic Document & Records Management) platform Omnidox, which won Document Management Product of the Year 2008 at last week’s DM Awards ceremony.

Omnidox is one of the only SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) EDRM solutions that is fully web-hosted. The service features the best of Stortext’s previous SaaS offerings and a wealth of new functionality necessary to meet the expectations of the SME, FTSE and Government marketplaces.

Stortext clients have already realised an unprecedented return on investment (ROI) in excess of 50%; the ability for end users to replicate labour has saved as much as 80%. This scale of economics should be attractive to a channel base looking to communicate a genuine win-win message to their clients.

Stortext has already formed successful long term alliances with major channel organisations responsible for managing service provision on behalf of blue chip end user clientele. These alliances have been cemented by the wide ranging capability of Stortext’s outsourced services and the introduction of the Omnidox platform. This new initiative is being launched to take the Omnidox platform to a wider base of specifier and reseller channel partners, including mid tier software resellers and systems integrators.

Having access to the award-winning Omnidox solution will allow channel partners to supply a fully featured EDRM solution irrespective of economic factors impacting the marketplace, as Omnidox requires no funding from Capital budgets in order to deliver.

In fact, Omnidox affords numerous benefits over in-house solutions, including:

  • Rapid Deployment
  • No End User Capex
  • Enhanced Security
  • Greater Flexibility
  • Easy Integration
  • Improved Business Continuity
  • Low Risk

Mark Iveson, Sales Director of Stortext, commented: “The ability to provide a solution that meets both current and future needs is always essential. The ability to reduce staff costs while increasing productivity is a major win irrespective of whether we are in an economic downturn or not. The new Omnidox platform is ideal for EDRM resellers and IT consultancies that need to offer a viable purchase despite tightening purse strings and for those wishing to extend their market share to SME, FTSE and Government clients.”

As Omnidox is a subscription service, the reseller will benefit from monthly annuity payments for years to come. Once the true impact (or lack thereof) of using what would otherwise be an enterprise solution over the web is realised, it becomes very difficult for the client organisation to take the process back in house. Stortext’s Iveson noted: “So far we haven’t found any compelling reason why an organisation would want to take the system back in house”. He went on to say: “Once the cost and resources required to achieve a similar level of service delivery have been fully understood, the decision becomes very easy to make. If a reseller doesn’t currently have a ‘SaaS offering on the cart’, they will soon wish they had.”

Product Information

Omnidox is an ASP.net based application which has been developed in-house using the Microsoft ‘Best Practice’ guidelines and is hosted on Microsoft Windows servers. Authorised site administrators will have access to Omnidox Admin pages. From these pages administrators can configure new users, roles and criteria.

Uploading documents to Omnidox is easy with the end user able to upload from the desktop with a familiar “browse and upload” functionality. Scanning bureaus are able to utilise Stortext’s pro sFTP interface to live upload data and images.

Search fields can be free text fields or drop down customisable lists, and users can choose to order search results by an indexed field. Results are displayed in a grid format (screenshots available on request) and documents are displayed in a separate browser window, so that multiple documents can be opened for ease of comparison. Users can opt to send a document as an email attachment or as a web link.

Customer sites may be optionally branded with company colours and logos. Sites may also be designed to complement companies’ existing web properties.
