Hammer and BridgeHead Software address European archiving market through distribution agreement
 October 08, 2008

Storage distributor, Hammer, has signed an agreement to distribute a range of BridgeHead Software archiving products across Europe.

Jason Beeson, solutions sales director at Hammer, said: “Archiving represents a significant business opportunity for our resellers who are continually looking to help customers manage their storage more effectively, including reducing storage costs.  While we’ve already had success selling bespoke archiving systems, with BridgeHead we have a strong, platform agnostic offering for the wider market, which we believe is growing increasingly interested in this area.”

Hammer’s storage solutions team will develop sales for BridgeHead’s products in the distributor’s key markets, including the UK, Ireland, Nordics, Benelux, and Italy.

BridgeHead’s offerings consist of a range of software products for enterprise data management.  From this suite Hammer will be distributing BH FileStore for the archiving and management of unstructured file data, and two customised vertical specific software products, BH FileStore for Scanning and Archiving and BH PACStore for archiving PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications Systems) medical image data.

The agreement is part of Hammer’s ongoing drive to introduce software that complements its existing storage hardware products and to create compelling solutions to distribute to the European market.

Ryan Witt, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing for BridgeHead Software, was keen to emphasize the opportunities the company’s products will provide to Hammer’s reseller partners:  “We have a uniform channel model which means that all channel partners can benefit from the same strong margin opportunities across the board.  And they’ll have the opportunity to build additional revenue by offering the consultancy and services which customers often need with archiving as well as by selling complementary hardware products.  We’re also providing marketing support and a number of sales tools to drive customer interest.

“Hammer has strong storage knowledge with great respect in the reseller community.  The timing is right for us to be teaming up with Hammer and to put our collective resources behind archiving.  They provide BridgeHead Software a strong platform from which to deliver our data management solution to a much wider market.  We are very enthusiastic about this relationship and the value that can be derived from a Hammer / BridgeHead Software collaboration.”

About BridgeHead Software

Established in 1994, BridgeHead Software is focused on developing Enterprise Data Management (EDM) software to enhance the ways in which organisations manage their data and storage infrastructures.  Enterprise Data Management is where backup and archive come together in one integrated solution to optimise the backup process, reduce storage costs, improve data access, and fully protect the data.

A key part of the BridgeHead Software philosophy, is remaining storage and vendor agnostic, enabling it to tie into customers’ current and future mix of storage platforms.  By the same token it recognises that software solutions have to integrate with and maximise the underlying storage, workflow and business processes that surround customers’ information.  To address this, BridgeHead Software has developed strong relationships with key storage and application technology vendors, as well as, leading systems integrators and providers of value added services, enabling it to deliver fully integrated solutions.

Alongside its products BridgeHead Software provides support, training, and consulting services to its established worldwide customer base and growing international channel network.  Sales, marketing and technical support operations are extended through its offices in UK, Germany and USA.
