Avnet Technology Solutions picks up Brocade award for 4th year in a row
April 30, 2009

For the fourth year running Avnet Technology Solutions (Avnet), the value-added IT distributor, has been recognised for its distribution excellence at the annual Brocade Partner Summit in Nice.

The award for Brocade EMEA Distribution Partner of the Year measures the contribution made by Avnet against specific criteria including overall revenue, year on year growth, technical knowledge, order management and engagement in sales initiatives.

Commenting on the award Mark Walker, EMEA director of the storage product business group at Avnet Technology Solutions said, “Winning an award like this once is a great compliment but to win it four years in a row is a major achievement and one that we are hugely proud of. It reaffirms the value that Avnet brings to Brocade and its partners. These are exciting times for the Brocade channel and we will ensure that Avnet remains at the forefront of delivering Brocade’s end-to-end networking solutions”.

Brocade’s Channel Summit was well attended by partners from across Brocade and its channel, including many partners of the former Foundry Networks, which was acquired by Brocade in December.  In attendance was Barbara Spicek, VP of Worldwide Channels at Brocade, who commented on Avnet’s achievement by saying, “Brocade is lucky to have some of the best channel partners in Europe. Avnet in particular has achieved commendable growth of the channel as a result of its thorough understanding of Brocade’s solutions and programmes and for having successfully catered to the needs of its partners.”

Avnet’s relationship with Brocade extends over seven years during which time the team has helped its business partners to create solutions for their end user customers around, for example, consolidation, compliance, data life cycle management and security.   Mark Walker added, “Our goal is to provide our partners with an exceptional level of support in the provision of complex technical expertise. If they know they can rely on Avnet every step of the way, then they can concentrate on delivering the best solution to their customers.”
