Avnet Technology Solutions appointed as first pan-European value-added distributor by I.R.I.S
February 10, 2009

Avnet Technology Solutions, a value-added distributor of enterprise computing products and an operating group of Avnet, Inc. and I.R.I.S Group, a publicly traded company and a market leader in high speed scanning, Optical Character Recognition (OCR), compression and Intelligent Document Recognition (IDR), have announced that they have entered into a Pan-European Value Added Distribution Agreement.

The agreement enables Avnet to distribute and support I.R.I.S.’s entire range of software solutions, including those specifically developed for the Intelligent Document Recognition marketplace.  “I.R.I.S’s products are highly complimentary to Avnet’s existing document management portfolio as they provide advanced functionality for scanning and integrate with many software vendors including eCopy and Microsoft. This will add real value to our channel as our resellers will be able to source all of the hardware and software they need to develop best in class document management solutions from a single distributor,” said Keith Robinson, EMEA Director, Document Management Technologies and Wireless & Mobility, Avnet Technology Solutions.  “Avnet’s European resellers will now be able to provide end to end data recognition and capture solutions, with the added advantage of ensuring the extension of I.R.I.S.’ reach across Europe.”

This is I.R.I.S’s first Pan-European Value Added Distribution Agreement and will play a key role in supporting the business objectives of increasing support for its resellers across Europe and growing its reseller base.  “We chose to partner with Avnet due to its extensive experience in the document management marketplace and its established, dedicated sales and technical teams located throughout Europe,” explained Bertrand Fontaine, Sales Director, I.R.I.S Products and Technologies.  “Avnet’s existing reseller base will help us to expand our reach and its focused document management teams will provide our existing resellers with increased local support; important tools in enabling us to grow our business.”

Moving forward Avnet will be offering I.R.I.S. training to its resellers to further drive the adoption and implementation of I.R.I.S software across Europe.

“This Agreement enhances our existing document management offering and further strengthens our position as a full service and solutions distributor,” concluded Robinson.
