Version One Wins Green Hero Award
24 May 2006

Professor David Bellamy (pictured left) has presented Version One with a Green Hero Award in recognition of the company's commitment to the environment and its invaluable contribution towards helping others follow its environmental lead.

This prestigious international award from The Green Organisation is testimony to how Version One is leading the way in environmental best practice in the document management industry.

Version One's electronic document management and imaging software, or 'paperless office' technology enables organisations to dramatically reduce their paper consumption and CO² emissions by electronically storing, retrieving, delivering and managing their everyday business documents. Using information supplied by the Carbon Trust, Version One has calculated that over 1,000 tonnes of CO² emissions are being saved every year, as a direct result of its customers' use of Version One technology.

Tony Bray (pictured right), Director of Version One says, "Being recognised as a Green Hero is a tribute to our continual efforts to reduce paper consumption and CO² emissions. As the ongoing destruction of trees and increasing emissions is a global problem, organisations worldwide need to sit up and take notice of how paperless office technology can help them reduce their negative impact on the environment."

"With the UK government pushing businesses to report on their environmental impacts, putting their processes under increasing scrutiny, Version One's technology also helps companies to be 'seen to be green'. And in addition to its environment benefits, this technology improves business performance, cuts costs and saves dramatic amounts of time and storage space creating a revolution in every day business processes."
