LogicaCMG teams up with Dartagnan and WCC to support businesses throughout the world with complete biometric security solutions for passenger and employee processing
26 September 2006

LogicaCMG, a leading IT services company, today announces its partnership with biometrics and passenger processing specialist Dartagnan, and with multi-modal and fusion experts WCC.

LogicaCMG and Dartagnan, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Schiphol Group, have an established track record of successful delivery of biometric solutions. The partnership of the three companies will provide face, iris and fingerprint recognition capabilities that can be integrated into the complex and fast processes surrounding the monitoring of passenger and employee movements.

The ELISE Identity Matching platform from WCC will incorporate multiple biometric and biographic criteria and enables the partnership to offer multi-modal identity matching and fusion based searches. This will increase the security of the verification and identification elements of a biometrics-based identity system and enhance the enrolment verification process.

One successful biometric solution implemented by LogicaCMG and Dartagnan is the pioneering Privium scheme at Schiphol airport in Amsterdam. Privium provides automated, highly secure, fast-pass border control for business travellers and other frequent users, making Schiphol very attractive as a European hub. Privium membership has grown to more than 32,000 members with a current rate of more than 1,000 new members a month since its launch in October 2001. Building on past successes, LogicaCMG, Dartagnan and WCC will offer tailored solutions to other businesses across the world. The partnership is already in discussions with three major European airports.

Tim Best, head of business development for e-Identity solutions at LogicaCMG said: “LogicaCMG has a strong track record in delivering secure, robust and scalable solutions. We have integration expertise in not only biometrics but also the wider transportation and security markets. These are often large scale implementations involving the co-ordination of different parties and vendors. Our pedigree in delivering these solutions and our commitment to vendor neutrality and preserving the return on existing investments, is vital.”

Nanne Onland, director, aviation and transportation business at Dartagnan Biometric Solutions added: “Our open, scalable platform incorporates enrolment and identification capabilities including ePassports. Due to the wide range of technology deployed in handling requirements on such a large scale, we believe that the partnership with LogicaCMG and WCC is the best guarantee to ensure the successful delivery of state of the art solutions to our customers.”

Johan Morsink, vice president of strategic development EMEA at WCC, said: “We are delighted to partner with LogicaCMG and Dartagnan to help bring enhanced security solutions to the market. ELISE, our vendor-neutral platform for multi-modal fusion identity matching, delivers enhanced security for the biometric solutions implemented and we are looking forward to working closely with our partners to continue to develop pioneering e-Identity solutions.”

Tim Best concluded: “Security is crucial and drives organisations to look at biometric solutions, but it is the additional commercial benefits and return on investment that make a real business case. For example, if an airport derives 10 per cent of its revenue from the top one per cent of its customers then it pays to target those frequent flyers with services such as accelerated processing. In addition this frees up resources that can be used to further improve passenger security.”

LogicaCMG and Dartagnan will be present at the ACI Europe Airport Exchange conference in Madrid from the 9th to 11th of October 2006 to showcase the solution of the three companies.
