Varlink adds Opticon's OPR-3301 bluetooth laser scanner to it's product range
December 09, 2009

Varlink, the York based mobile computing and data capture specialist distributor is pleased to announce the launch of Opticon’s OPR-3301 wireless Bluetooth laser scanner, one of the smallest and lightest cordless laser scanners on the market. Weighing just 110g including the battery, it makes the OPR-3301 an extremely comfortable scanner for prolonged scanning.

The OPR-3301 incorporates a high performance scan engine capable of 100 scans/sec, which provides excellent performance on all quality barcodes including 1D and PDF417 barcodes. Integrated with a Class 2 Bluetooth radio, it provides up to 10 metres remote scanning from the host device. The OPR-3301 not only interfaces with the charge and communication cradle, but as it is Bluetooth enabled, can connect to Bluetooth enabled PDA’s, laptops and tablet PC’s allowing greater flexibility and lower cost of ownership.

Combined with the separately available hands free stand, the auto-trigger initiates automatic scanning and allows the user to operate instantly and hands free. The OPR-3301 also incorporates a call button which can assist the user in locating the device if ever misplaced.

Sarah Esders, Varlink Marketing Executive, commented “Ergonomic yet lightweight, the OPR-3301 is a very reliable barcode scanner, providing the perfect low cost solution for cordless barcode scanning and barcode data collection in retail, back office, healthcare and light industrial environments. With a 1100mAH battery, the unit provides 25 hours of use when scanning every 5 seconds. As it is extremely light, this scanner provides end users with comfortable all day scanning capability”.

Varlink will be stocking the OPR-3301 around mid December. This product will be sold as a complete kit, including the scanner, cradle, PSU, USB and RS232 interface cables. A hands-free stand is available separately, but can also be combined with the same stand as for the OPR-3201.
