Pegaso PDA: Datalogic Mobile’s new, versatile and full featured data capture solution, which combines flexibility and power in a rugged and ergonomic design.

Pegaso is the new compact size PDA from Datalogic Mobile, which provides users with a powerful mobile computer that meets mobile data capture needs in a wide range of applications. Designed to supply a full range of product features, this PDA is perfect for applications where user needs include integrated communications in addition to data capture tasks.

Powerful and ergonomic, Pegaso combines wireless communications and ruggedness into a compact design for retail-in-store, field force automation and logistics applications. It is also ideal for inventory management, office applications, healthcare or manufacturing. Pegaso is an excellent choice for warehouse and distribution centers as an associate’s or manager’s device where the application requires both data communications and data capture. This powerful PDA works well in traditional applications, but also provides advanced capability for developing new innovative applications in the future.

Pegaso is based on a Windows CE 5.0 operating system and has a laser bar code reader center mounted for intuitive aiming. An integrated 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi Cisco CCX v3 network interface offers high speed data transmission, while the Intel PXA270 520 MHz processor exhibits great performance.

Designed with rough handling in mind, Pegaso withstands drops from up to 5 feet (1.5m) and its sealing is rated at IP64. At the same time, it offers outstanding ergonomics for users of all sizes. In fact, its design is comfortable to hold for small and large hands.

Thanks to its transflective full-VGA LCD touchscreen display, Pegaso provides excellent readability in indoor and outdoor environments. This high resolution display also enables innovative multimedia applications, such as on floor multimedia sales assistance, or field applications that require high video resolution.

64/128 MB of RAM for added program memory and 128 MB of Flash memory for additional persistent storage are available for Pegaso. This PDA is designed to guarantee a great battery performance as well: the use of a standard battery or an extended capacity battery does not interfere with ergonomics, which remain the same. Furthermore, the one-piece battery can be quickly replaced to maximize productivity. A fully charged replacement is conveniently located on the front of the dock for easy access.

A user accessible SDIO port allows expandability for additional memory or peripherals.

Connections to peripherals can be made through the secure, compact cable solution. In addition to serial communications, Pegaso offers USB On-The-Go, which connects to a USB printer as easily as a PC, while an integrated Bluetooth® module provides wireless connections to a variety of peripherals.

Pegaso offers users the ability to select the right level of features and capabilities to satisfy a variety of applications. It comes with accessories designed with ease of use in mind, to guarantee users the ability to tailor the solution to fit the job. This new PDA is provided with a solution package that includes a power supply with 4 adapters and a USB cable, while other optional accessories include a handle and belt clip, as well as a single dock with spare battery charger.
